AntiFire Glass is manufactured by LG Glass & Glazing Ltd at our factory in Castlebar, Mayo. We are the only glass company in the country who manufactures fire glass of this type in house.
Antifire glass is manufactured by a process which forms a clear, salt-based HYDROGEL layer between the outer panes of fully tempered panes. Depending on the thickness of the Hydrogel, fire resistance periods can be provided from 30 to 120 minutes. Due to the make-up of this type of fire glass, the weight per square meter surpass the common standards for fire glass, it can also have the advantage of having a better acoustic rating.
Antifire glass has been approved and certified for applications using steel, aluminimum as well as wooden frames. It has been installed and tested in various elements such as glazed walls, screens, single and double-leaf doors, UV proof façade glazing, flooring, etc.
Antifire Glass is made to specific sizes, but should be used within the size parameters of the certified tests. See below the spec sheets for our 30 minute and 60 minute fire glass.
LG Glass And Glazing Ltd has also carried out its own fire tests on our glass to re-assure the quality and safety of AntiFire Glass. Tests carried out at Lorient UK.
